Jackson Park is one of Windsor's best-known public green spaces. With more than 10,000 plants, it is renowned for the Queen Elizabeth II Sunken Gardens and seasonal displays of tulips, perennials, and annual blooms during May. The park also has fountains, monuments and memorials that give the landscape both visual interest and historical significance. Jackson Park provides active recreation destination, with Windsor Stadium, ball diamonds, sports fields for basketball, five ball diamonds, rugby and soccer; playground facilities and walking routes. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful garden stroll or dive into the park's sporting and civic heritage. The variety of planted areas and open recreation spaces makes Jackson Park a destination for residents, families, photographers and visitors throughout the year. Seasonal displays change over time, so spring and summer are particularly attractive periods for garden visits.
